Projects Undertaken

(1) Design and development of an "Integrated Hospital Management System", for a multispeciality hospital in Bhubaneswar. This project has developed using Visual Basic 6.0 as front end and MS Access 97 as back end. The various features of this project are:

  • Authorization :
  • Verifies and authenticates user information and make distribute over different sections and roles.

  • Out-Patient Information :
  • Gives the information about the out-patient list including front-desk management such as OPD-Card issuing, Doctor information, Casualty, Bill Maker, Bed Chart entry, Package Scheme Entry, and other money transactions.

  • In-Patient Information :
  • Deals with in-patient entry list like patient registration & admission, Bed allocation, Package Deal, Bill Maker, and other money transactions.

  • Pharmacy Management :
  • Concerns to the pharmacy management activities such as Purchasing and selling of the drugs, Processing purchase orders, Inward & Outward returns, Maintaining drug list with expiry date and price details, Self damage details, Maintaining vendor/manufacture list etc.

  • Payroll :
  • Mainly deals with generating and maintaining pay slips, Intereset Rates over them, Posting, Loss & advance pay details etc.

  • HRD :
  • Maintains the employee details entry which includes name( first& last), contact addresses, phone numbers, Employment category, marital status, Birth date & Blood Group. Also maintains the information regarding the employee such as last salary drawn date, educational qualification, years of experience, ,joining date, remarks on employee & includes a search for the details of the employee based on the first & Last names.

  • Financial Accounting:
  • Deals with Accounting section Transactions, Vouchers entry, Ledger information, Bank Recond- reconcilation, checks whether it is new, deleting accounts, Minimum Balance, Fixed Asserts, Stores, Stock In hand, Accrued Income, Information of Receivable bills of all the sections like pharmacy, corporate customs, services Credit Sales, Expenses & Liabilities,Transaction Types etc.

  • Inventory Management:
  • Concerns over the Managmental activities like managing daily requirements & deals with the engagements over parties, maintaining daily event list, maintaining other purchase details for managing all other damage details.



(2) Design and development of a package "Deployment of Police Personnel for Election Duty" for the Superintendent of Police, Berhampur. This has been used successfully in two general elections. This project has developed using Visual Basic 6.0 as front end and MS Access 97 as back end.



(3) A customized software "Nursery Study Standards" for a Public School, Berhampur. This software provides an advanced study solution for the nursery students. It is more interactive and with better audio and visual interactions. This project has developed using Visual Basic 6.0.



(4) A customized software "Command Post Deployment and Control" for the Army Air Defense School, Indian Army. This software aims at semi automating the working process of the Air Defense Artillery Command Post. It will be used for plotting tracks on to a GEOREF. The information about the tracks is passed on to the operator through radio/telephone. This software is designed to work in stand-alone mode. This project has developed using Visual Basic 6.0.



(5) Design and implementation of a multi-user "Integrated Central Information System" for National Institute of Science and Technology. This project has developed using Visual Basic 6.0 as front end and PostgreSQL as back end. The various features of this project are:

  • Library Management System :
  • This aims at maintaining all-important activities related to NIST Library. The library contains books, journals and CDs. It allows maintaining the library users. Provides facility of using optical coded scheme for adding new books, journals, CDs and library users and also for maintaining the old ones. It keeps track of when the books, journals and CDs are borrowed and returned. It produces reminders for overdue books. It provides fine system on overdue books. Provides users to search for a book on a particular topic, by a particular author, etc., to check whether a copy of the book is available to issue, and if not, to reserve the book. Any user can browse in the library. It allows the users to place and browse comments on any book. Provides flexible reports for day to day purpose. It is fully integrated with authorization to prevent malicious activities.

  • Student Database Management System :
  • This aims at maintaining details about all the students of NIST. This keeps track of admission category, fees category, branch details and other required information about students. It gives the facilities for changing the branch of a student. It also keeps track of the notes (i.e. Seminar Topic, B.E. Project name) prepared for students. When a student discontinue his/her study the details of the student is also maintained in discontinued student list. This is integrated with authorization to keep track of the user who has entered details about the students and other information. Using this one can retrieve detail information about students. It will be particularly helpful to know all the details of a student.

  • Marks Management System :
  • This module aims at to keep track of the information about the University Mark, Sessionl mark and Internal marks of every student. Calculation of Internal mark with the Mid Semester, Pre Semester and Assesment mark. It produces flexible reports to help in management. It produces report cards for students. This is fully integrated with authorization to keep track of the user who has entered details about the marks. Event Diary: This module aims at maintaining details about the important events occurring at NIST and generating notices. Using this module one can retrieve detail information about a past event and notices that were generated. This module will only be accessible to few top most persons of the management level. It will be particularly helpful to know the details of a past event and generate any types of notices. It will be equipped with a good search engine so as to facilitate search by a particular event or notice with some specific criteria as category of event, date of occurrence of the event, topic of notice or any search text etc.

  • Payroll:
  • It maintains employees detail information about ones salary like Basic, DA, HRA, Balance Advance against Salary, PF deductions etc. The pay slips are generated at the end of each month and are issued to the employees for their clarifications and knowledge. This module is integrated with authorization module to keep track of the user who has entered details about the particular data. An authorized user only can log into the payroll system by providing his/her User Name and Password. A user has been given permissions to access particular sections of the system according to the rights to him/her granted. All the pay information of existing employees should be entered first and later it should be updated time to time for maintaining the revised pay information. It keeps the systematic entries about the advances taken by and Loss of Pay information of each employee, if any. It generates pay slips for a particular month. A pay slip can be edited for a particular employee for any kind of changes or corrections before the final print of that pay slip reaches him/her. The final pay slip are stored in the database for the future references. Lastly the system posts all the stored pay slips to the accounts for getting the individual employees account. There is a search tool by using which one can see a particular employees pay slips details on screen or also can take different kinds of reports like Pay slips, Bank statement, PF information, Salary Advances, Salary History, Advances History, Salary Statement.

  • HRD:
  • This HRD package is designed using Visual Basic 6.0 as the front end and postgreSql as the back end. The client for this module is NIST. The main features of the software are as follows managing employee general information as well as educational info, work experience information, training information and dependents information special features like exact employee name pronunciation tools for integrating this module with attendance module.customized reports like brief information,detail information and other reports.and also an option for keeping notes of special occasions of employee with repoting.one touch online help.

  • Financial Accounting :
  • The purpose of this module is to deal with the financial accounting in an organization and ascertain the result of business operations during the particular period and to state the financial position as on a date at the end of the period.This system aims at maintaining details about the financial transaction occurring at any organization. This module allows user to record the voucher entries of Purchase, Sales, Receipts, Payments, Credit Note, Debit Note, Journals and Contra. In case of wrong entries, it gives editing features so that entries can be corrected. Whenever a new Company is Created it helps in creating new Groups or accounts which will be needed by that new organizations. It will also have features of showing the profit or loss of business operations during the particular period and to state the financial position (Balance Sheet) as on a date at the end of the period. This system is integrated with authorization to keep track of the user who has entered details about the transactions so that data is adequately protected from being accessed by illegal users.

  • Training & Placement Management System :
  • This aims at maintaining details about trainning and placement activities of the students of NIST. It keep track of the summer trainings taken by the students in various organization. It keeps all related information of the companies coming for providing placement to students. Provides sufficient information of the students placed in various companies through campus selection. Maintains inletter and outletter details. Produces flexible reports to help in management.

  • MCQ Online Testing :
  • This module aims at allowing the examiner and the examinee to give or take the examination respectively, without the use of the pen and paper. Here the administrator/examiner creates the questions and the examinations. The administrator can also delete or modify the questions. The user/examinee takes the examination by entering the Test Number. The user can see the results of the examination instantly or after the examination by just entering the Transcript ID. This module is integrated with authorization to allow the user and administrator to gain access to this module.

  • Authorization :
  • This module aims at providing password based authorization to the users of the software. The passwords will be maintained by a system administrator. Sufficient safeguards is given for safe storage of passwords to protect against hacker getting access to the database. Future modifications will aim at providing biometrics based authentication as and when the necessary hardware/software becomes available. Bar Coded Attendance System : This system keeps track of In and Out timing of each employee. The employee has to swap his/her Identity Card in a flat bar code scanner by the time he enters into the institution. By the time an employee swaps the card through the scanner, it scans the barcode number from the ID Card and it speaks out the name of the employee and the time of In/Out. The different reports like IN list i.e. a report on employees who are presently inside the institution and an absentee list which gives a report about the employees absent on a particular day. And another report which gives the detail In/Out timing for a particular period of all the employees.

(6) Design and development of an "Pay Role Management System". This project has developed using Visual Basic 6.0 as front end and MS Access 2000 or SQL Server as back end. Clients of this software are Local Government of Uganda, International Youth Center, Chanakya Puri , New Delhi and Vest Inc., Chitaranjan Park, New Delhi.. The various features of this project are:

(7) Design and development of a pharmacological software "E-Pharma". This software has developed using Visual Basic 6.0 as the front end and Access 2000 as the backend. The reports are designed using Seagate Crystal reports 7.0. This software is packed with the latest tech features. This software is aimed at the pharmaceutical wholesale and retail dealers. The capabilities of this software include a very strong inventory system along with accounts. The main features of the software are highlighted below.



  • Security:
  • This software has a user-friendly GUI base security system. Based on the rights assigned to the user access can be restricted to various forms reports and queries. Even the database views given to the user can be restricted based on the rights assigned. The software uses encryption to store the passwords.

  • Comprehensive Reports:
  • This software provides comprehensive reports of all the masters. The transaction reports include
      Detailed stock information.
      Minimum stock levels that help in reordering.
      Credit status of the customer.
      Expiry date of drugs.
      Reports based on the ABC, FSN and VED analysis.


  • Customizable queries:
  • The system has the facility to generate queries based on the criteria set by the user. Some of the important queries are listed below.
      Information about the cash transactions of a particular/all operator/s for a user defined period.

  • System Maintenance:
  • This is one of the best features of the software providing the user with the flexibility of defining discounts for the various customers. It also provides the user with the authority to forcefully close a purchase order and to modify the batch rate. Lastly the user is provided with access to modify the parameters used in the ABC, FSN and VED analysis.

  • Pharmacological information:
  • This is the best feature of the whole system. The system maintains a huge database of the pharmacological information gathered from the leading medical experts. It also maintains information of the generic classification of the drugs. This information helps the user to find information of the drugs with the same composition but with different trade names that are given by their respective manufacturers. All this information is available with the click of a button.

  • Accounts:
  • The system stores information about the manufacturers, suppliers and customers. All this information is stored in a centralized database, which is available to all the stores using the system over the network. Individual accounts of all the active manufacturers, suppliers and customers are maintained. Online Help: The system provides comprehensive html based help. The help provides detailed step-by-step information about installation and maintenance. It also provides tutorials for the beginners.

  • Client-server/standalone installation:
  • This system can be used in a client-server environment on in a standalone environment. The number of users in a client server environment is limited to 5 users.
